This video is an exerpt for the collaboration work with composer, Roozbeh Nafisi to accompany his piece, 'Orchestral Santur' in a live performance. It is founded on the concept of the city that lives in a constant state of 'becoming' with layers of erasure and appearance- a grand construction site of lost and retrieved memories and projections into the future. It is particularly a reflection of two post-war cities- Berlin and Tokyo. The performance consists of video projection, santur live performance (Nafisi) and recorded santur piece mentioned above. The combined effort of prepared parts/live improvised performance also highlights the concept of memory and its (ir)relevance to the life of the present.
